Register

There are four steps to the Academy registration process.

Step 1: Parkland School Division Registration

Complete a Parkland School Division Registration Form, entering your school and program information as follows:

For Grade 6-9 Students: Select Connections for Learning as your school, and Parkland Student Athlete Academy as your program of choice.

For Grade 6-9 Students in French Immersion: Select École Broxton Park School as your school and French Immersion as your program, complete and submit your registration form, and then contact Broxton Park at broxton@psd.ca and inform them you wish to register in the Parkland Student Athlete Academy program of choice.

For Grade 10-12 Students: Select your designated high school (Memorial Composite High School or Spruce Grove Composite High School) as your school, and Parkland Student Athlete Academy as your program of choice.

Please Note:

  • Choosing the Parkland Student Athlete Academy on the PSD Registration Form indicates that the student wishes to apply for the program - it does not guarantee the student's acceptance into the program. Program acceptance may only occur after completing the remaining steps of the registration process and receiving confirmation of acceptance from Connections for Learning.

  • While we will make our best efforts to accept qualifying students into the program, our capacity to do so is subject to space availability. Please register ASAP to ensure your child has the best chance possible of being accepted into PSAA.

Step 2: Complete Application Survey

After submitting a PSD Registration form, each applicant will receive an email with the Academy Application Survey. Complete the survey and select the sport(s) in which the student wishes to specialize. The student must provide a recent report card to demonstrate their academic background. Please visit the Student Responsibilities page for more information.

Application surveys will be reviewed by community partners and Connections for Learning to confirm the student has met both the athletic and academic requirements for entrance into the program, and ensure that there is space available to accommodate their grade level and chosen sport(s).

Step 3: Review Process

Connections for Learning staff will review all applications. Elements of the review process may include contacting the student’s previous teacher and school administration, conducting a family interview, and/or booking a shadow day, during which the student would participate in all PSAA activities for a single school day.

Step 4: Admission

Parkland Student Athlete Academy is a program of choice. In order to be successful in the program, students must display a high standard of independence, work ethic, responsibility, discipline, and engagement. Our goal is for every student to be successful; however, we know that this program may not be the best fit for every student due to its unique nature.

Once all the pertinent information has been collected and reviewed, a decision will be made regarding the student’s application. Applicants will be contacted by Connections for Learning staff at this time.
